After the success of the Definitive Biography 54 tracks boxed set that was released in 1990, in 1993 Led Zeppelin followed up the release with the remaining 31 tracks that were not included with the first box set release.  In addition, a previously unreleased studio track “Baby, Come On Home” was included for the first time on a Led Zeppelin release.  Pictured above is an example of Box Set II that was available for retail sale in a generic white longbox.  In the 1980’s and 1990’s cd versions of album releases were sold in a long cardboard box that usually had the album release artwork printed on the outside of the packaging.  Ultimately, longboxes were discontinued.  While the longbox may have assisted in deterring theft of the cd product, it was not cost effective for the record companies to produce and was extremely bad for the environment.

Here’s the back of the generic box packaging with a window to show the potential buyer what song tracks were included with the release.

Of final note is the Bradlees department store retail chain price sticker still being affixed to the product.  Bradlees was an east coast United States retail chain that filed for bankruptcy and has been defunct since 2001.
